Loss Minimisation

Action should be taken immediately to protect property from further damage, however no action should be taken to repair any damage until instructed to by your Broker or the appointed claims assessor.

Own Property Damage

All losses should be reported immediately to your Broker, who will advise you on the appropriate steps to follow, and arrange for an assessor if required.

Burglary, Theft or Loss of Money

If the loss is due to Burglary (forced entry), Theft (unforced entry) or involves the loss of money, the Police should be notified immediately and a record made of the Officer and Station to whom you have spoken to. A copy of the Police Report should be obtained as soon as possible.

General and Other Liability

Should a situation arise which may result in a claim under this policy, contact your Broker immediately. No admission of liability should be made to any party in any form whatsoever, and all correspondence, writs, summonses and demands should be sent to your Broker immediately upon receipt.

Motor Vehicle

Vehicle Damage

All accidents involving your motor vehicle/s should be reported as soon as possible to your Broker. If the vehicle is not drivable, it may be towed to the closest repairer capable of rectifying the damage. Your Broker will advise you if an assessor will inspect the vehicle.

Prompt completion of the claim form will assist in expediting the repairs to your vehicle and in the absence of an assessor being appointed your Broker will be able to direct you to an approved repairer.

Should there be any delays in the repair process, contact your Broker who will rectify this where appropriate.

Your Policy excess is normally paid by you to the repairer upon collection of the repaired vehicle. Where the damage was caused due to the negligence of an identifiable Third Party, your Insurer will attempt to recover your Excess from them.

Remember, where a Third Party is involved, no admission of liability should be made under any circumstances.

Vehicle Windscreen

Should your windscreen need repairing or replacing, contact your Broker immediately. They will provide you with the contact details of an approved windscreen repairer, who you will need to contact to arrange a suitable time for the repair or replacement to be completed.

Generally there is no excess payable for windscreen repairs (your Broker will confirm this with you) and the provision of your Policy Number and Insurer to the repairer will be sufficient for repairs to proceed.

Should any issues arise in the course of the repair/replacement process, contact your Broker who will rectify this where appropriate
