Conveniently based in Newmarket, Auckland, near the key insurance markets, Insurance Advisernet comprises a small dedicated team consisting of:
David Crawford - Managing Director
As many people did, David started his insurance career with NZI (in Auckland), before travelling to London to see the world. In London he worked in a variety of roles and businesses in the insurance industry, managed to survive a four year stint in the Middle East, and ended up in a senior position in the retail broking operations of Willis in London.
David returned to New Zealand in the mid 1990's with a young family and worked with Marsh for four years in a business development and client servicing role. David left just prior to the merger with Sedgwick and spent four years outside the insurance industry before joining Jardine Lloyd Thompson in 2002 to help them re-enter the corporate insurance market. David ended up as National Development Manager prior to leaving to start Insurance Advisernet in August 2006.
David is a current Board member of IBANZ (Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand) and is heavily involved with education and training.
Jennifer Cockburn - Insurance Co-ordinator
Jennifer joined Insurance Advisernet in September 2009 and closely assists David with product design and placement services for our members.
Jennifer started her career with AA Insurance before moving to State Insurance and then onto Marsh in a broking support role. Following a short overseas break, she worked as an underwriter for a commercial motor vehicle insurer prior to joining us.
Jennifer is the primary contact for insurance and placement enquiries for our member brokers.
Scott Carter - Accounts Administrator
Scott joined Insurance Advisernet in March 2010 and is responsible for all accounting matters. Scott administers the IANZ Trust Account and pays client premiums to insurers.
Scott has a farming background and an agricultural degree from Massey. Prior to joining Insurance Advisernet Scott worked overseas for 7.5 years and married a Canadian girl shortly before returning to New Zealand.
Belinda Ireton - Insurance Administrator
Belinda hails from the mainland (Timaru) and joined Insurance Advisernet in July 2010 after returning from a working holiday in Australia.
Belinda handles all enquiries, suggestions and updates/releases for our broking system - iBroker.
Belinda had 5 years with State Insurance before her trip to Australia and although she doesn't have an IT background she is learning fast.
