About Us

Insurance Advisernet was formed to allow smaller independent insurance brokers to compete with the larger national and international brokers by being able part of a national buying group, whilst maintaining their local presence and independence.

Insurance Advisernet was established in 2006 as a joint venture between Insurance Advisernet Australia (IAA) and New Zealand investors. In April 2010 IAA took a majority shareholding in New Zealand, providing us with memebership of Austbrokers (a public listed company in Australia). The Austbrokers Group, including Insurance Advisernet, has over $2bn of client premiums under management.

Our vision is to support our insurance brokers and be the market leader in New Zealand by providing our members with access to quality insurance products and services that offer value to their customers in today's complex and competitive business world.

We utilise all the major insurers in New Zealand and have access to overseas insurers, including Lloyd’s of London, enabling our brokers to find the right insurer for their clients without the need to use another intermediary. We are strong advocates of only using strong and stable insurers that have a credit rating from a recognised rating agency for clients.

We have the latest insurance broking technology available to our members – iBroker – designed by brokers and utilising Microsoft dot net technology. It simplifies the insurance process, provides consistent quality documentation to both clients and insurers and provides a platform for direct connectivity to insurers – one of the key requirements for success in the future insurance marketplace.
